Pelatihan Pembuatan Pakan Fermentasi Ternak dari Ampas Tempe di Kelompok Ternak Dusun Montong Obok Desa Jelantik

Abstract

Poor waste management can lead to environmental pollution. In Jelantik Village, agricultural waste—particularly tempeh residue—has not been optimally utilized by local livestock farmers. This KKN (Community Service Program) aimed to educate and train farmers in producing fermented livestock feed from tempeh waste as an alternative feed, especially during the dry season. The activity was held on January 11, 2024, in Montong Obok Hamlet, Jelantik Village, Central Lombok Regency, and was attended by members of the local Livestock Group. The methods included socialization, theoretical and practical training, and hands-on assistance in the production of fermented feed. The results showed strong enthusiasm and interest from participants in converting waste into a high-value feed product. The fermented feed produced met quality standards: stable texture, no clumping, natural color, and a characteristic fermented (tape-like) aroma. This program demonstrated that an educational and practical approach can effectively enhance the knowledge and skills of farmers in utilizing waste materials. It is recommended that ongoing training be provided to ensure the sustainability and further development of the program.
