Authors Guidelines

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to confirm that their manuscript complies with all requirements listed below. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned to the authors without further evaluation.

  1. Manuscript processing typically requires 4–40 weeks (or longer) to receive a status update. Authors may monitor the submission status through their registered account, and notifications will also be sent by email.
  2. The author has read and understood the Author Guidelines.
  3. The manuscript has not been published elsewhere and contains no elements of plagiarism.
  4. A signed Author Declaration Letter is attached at the initial submission stage.
  5. The manuscript must follow the official journal template and be prepared using a word-processing application (e.g., Microsoft Word, OpenOffice) in DOC or DOCX format. The file size must not exceed 1 MB.
  6. Formatting requirements include Times New Roman 12 pt, title 14 pt bold, single spacing throughout, A4 paper size, and margins of 3 cm on all sides.
  7. The manuscript must not exceed 15 pages, including references and tables.
  8. References must be arranged alphabetically and follow APA 7th edition. Authors must use reference management software such as Mendeley. A minimum of 20 references is required, with at least 80% sourced from peer-reviewed journals.
  9. The manuscript must not exceed 20% similarity. Authors are advised to consult the Plagiarism Screening guidelines for further information.
  10. The author agrees to pay the applicable Article Processing Charge (APC) in accordance with the journal’s policy.
  11. The author acknowledges that the manuscript may be rejected if it does not comply with these guidelines.
  12. The author agrees not to withdraw the manuscript after acceptance for any reason. Withdrawal after acceptance requires payment of the applicable APC and may result in blacklisting by JURNALISTRENDI.
  13. For manuscripts written in English, compliance with American English grammar is mandatory, and professional proofreading is strongly recommended.

General Information

Authors are advised to consider the processing timeline of 4–40 weeks (or longer), particularly if rapid publication is required. A Letter of Acceptance (LoA) will be issued only after the manuscript is accepted and all required administrative documents have been submitted.

  1. All submitted manuscripts must be unpublished and free from plagiarism, as confirmed by the author’s declaration.
  2. All submissions will be screened using Turnitin. The journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts with similarity above 20% at initial screening and above 15% for final publication.
  3. Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or American English.
  4. Manuscripts must be prepared in DOC or DOCX format with a maximum file size of 1 MB. If figures or images are included, the maximum file size may be extended to 2 MB.
  5. Manuscript structure must strictly follow the journal template. Only properly formatted submissions will be processed.
  6. All submissions and revisions must be uploaded through the journal’s OJS system. Submissions via email are not accepted.
  7. Authors must complete all minor or major revisions requested by the editor based on peer-review recommendations.
  8. All editorial communication, including review results and decisions, will be conducted exclusively via email at jurnalistrendi@unwmataram.ac.id.

Manuscript Writing Requirements

  1. Manuscripts must be written in Indonesian or American English and follow the journal template.
  2. Author names must be written in full, without abbreviations or academic titles. Affiliations must be indicated using Arabic numerals, and one author must be designated as the corresponding author with a valid ORCID iD.
  3. Abstracts must be provided in Indonesian and English, with a length of 150–250 words, containing the purpose, methodology, and findings, without abbreviations or citations.
  4. The introduction must present background, research problems, objectives, and theoretical framework, supported by recent references (last 10 years), and must not exceed 20% of the manuscript.
  5. The methods section must clearly describe the research procedures and must not exceed 10% of the manuscript.
  6. Results and discussion must be integrated into a coherent narrative and may comprise up to 65% of the manuscript.
  7. The conclusion must address the research objectives and problems and must not exceed 5% of the manuscript.
  8. References must include at least 20 sources, primarily from recent scholarly journals, and follow APA 7th edition with single spacing.
  9. Tables and figures must comply with the journal template.

Editorial Decision Categories

  1. Rejected: The manuscript is unsuitable for publication and may not be resubmitted.
  2. Resubmit: The manuscript requires major revision and may be submitted again as a new submission.
  3. Revision Required: The manuscript requires revision and resubmission within 2–3 weeks, accompanied by a point-by-point response.
  4. Accepted: The manuscript is accepted for publication after final editorial checks.

  1. Attribution: Proper credit must be given, a link to the license provided, and any changes indicated.
  2. ShareAlike: Adaptations must be distributed under the same license as the original work.
  3. No additional restrictions: No legal or technological measures may restrict use permitted by the license.
  4. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.
  5. Authors may distribute the published work non-exclusively with acknowledgment of initial publication.
  6. Authors are encouraged to share their work online before and during submission to promote scholarly exchange and citation.
