Author Guidelines

Jurnalistrendi: Jurnal Linguistik, Sastra dan Pendidikan is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing scholarly work in linguistics, literature, language and literature education, and related interdisciplinary studies. Authors must ensure that their manuscripts comply with the journal's submission requirements, writing guidelines, and publication policies.

Important Information

Manuscript processing typically takes 4–40 weeks or longer to receive a status update. The actual duration may vary depending on editorial assessment, peer review, and revisions. Authors can monitor submission status through their registered OJS accounts and should check their email regularly. A Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is issued after the manuscript has been accepted and all required administrative documents have been submitted.

1. Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors must confirm that their manuscripts comply with the following requirements before completing a submission. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned without further evaluation.

  1. Manuscript processing typically requires 4–40 weeks or longer to receive a status update. Authors should consider this timeline when planning their submissions.
  2. Authors have read and understood the Author Guidelines.
  3. The manuscript has not been published elsewhere and contains no plagiarized material.
  4. A signed Author Declaration Letter must be attached at the initial submission stage.
  5. The manuscript must follow the official journal template and be prepared using a word-processing application, such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice, in DOC or DOCX format. The file size must not exceed 1 MB, subject to the provisions for manuscripts containing images.
  6. The manuscript must use Times New Roman 12 pt, a bold 14 pt title, single spacing, A4 paper size, and margins of 3 cm on all sides. Abstracts should use 11 pt where specified in the journal template.
  7. The manuscript must not exceed 20 pages, including references, tables, and figures.
  8. References must be arranged alphabetically and formatted according to APA 7th edition. Authors must use reference management software such as Mendeley. A minimum of 20 references is required, with at least 80% drawn from peer-reviewed journals.
  9. The manuscript must comply with the journal's similarity screening requirements. Authors should consult the Plagiarism Screening provisions in the General Information section.
  10. Authors agree to pay the applicable Article Processing Charge (APC) in accordance with the journal's published policy.
  11. Authors acknowledge that manuscripts may be rejected if they do not comply with the journal's requirements.
  12. Authors are expected not to withdraw their manuscripts after acceptance. Any withdrawal request and its consequences are subject to the journal's formally published withdrawal and APC policies.
  13. Manuscripts written in English must comply with American English grammar conventions. Professional proofreading is strongly recommended.

2. General Information

  1. All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and free from plagiarism, as confirmed by the author's declaration.
  2. All submissions are screened using Turnitin. The journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts with a similarity score above 20% at initial screening and above 15% at the final publication stage.
  3. Manuscripts may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or American English.
  4. Manuscripts must be prepared in DOC or DOCX format with a maximum file size of 1 MB. If figures or images are included, the maximum file size may be extended to 2 MB.
  5. Manuscript structure and formatting must strictly follow the official journal template. Manuscripts that do not comply with the template may be returned for correction.
  6. All submissions and revisions must be uploaded through the journal's Online Journal System (OJS). Submissions and revisions by email are not accepted.
  7. Authors must complete all minor or major revisions requested by the editor based on peer-review recommendations.
  8. Editorial communication, including review results and editorial decisions, is conducted through the journal's official email address: jurnalistrendi@unwmataram.ac.id .

3. Manuscript Writing Requirements

  1. Language and formatting. Manuscripts must be written in Bahasa Indonesia or American English and must follow the official journal template.
  2. Author names and affiliations. Author names must be written in full, without abbreviations or academic titles. Affiliations must be identified using Arabic numerals. One author must be designated as the corresponding author and provide a valid ORCID iD.
  3. Abstract. Abstracts must be provided in Bahasa Indonesia and English, with each abstract containing 150–250 words. Each abstract should explain the research purpose, methodology, and findings without abbreviations or citations.
  4. Introduction. The introduction must present the research background, research problems, objectives, and theoretical framework. It should be supported by relevant scholarly references, prioritizing recent publications from the last ten years, and must not exceed 20% of the manuscript.
  5. Methods. The methods section must clearly describe the research procedures and must not exceed 10% of the manuscript.
  6. Results and discussion. Results and discussion must be integrated into a coherent narrative and may comprise up to 65% of the manuscript.
  7. Conclusion. The conclusion must address the research objectives and problems and must not exceed 5% of the manuscript.
  8. References. At least 20 references are required. References should primarily consist of relevant scholarly journal articles, follow APA 7th edition, and use single spacing. At least 80% must come from peer-reviewed journals.
  9. Tables and figures. Tables and figures must comply with the official journal template.
Manuscript length and structure

The section percentages specified above are intended to guide manuscript organization. Authors must follow the official template for the final structure and formatting of their articles.

4. Editorial Decision Categories

Rejected

The manuscript is considered unsuitable for publication in the journal. A rejected manuscript may not be resubmitted under the same submission.

Resubmit

The manuscript requires major revision and may be submitted again as a new submission, subject to the editorial decision and the journal's submission procedures.

Revision Required

The manuscript requires revision and resubmission within 2–3 weeks, unless another deadline is specified by the editor. Authors must submit a point-by-point response explaining how the editor's and reviewers' comments have been addressed.

Accepted

The manuscript is accepted for publication after final editorial checks and completion of the required administrative procedures.

5. Copyright Notice

Works published in Jurnalistrendi are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.

  1. Attribution. Appropriate credit must be given, a link to the license must be provided, and changes must be indicated.
  2. ShareAlike. Adaptations must be distributed under the same license as the original work.
  3. No additional restrictions. Users may not impose legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights permitted by the license.
  4. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.
  5. Authors may distribute the published work non-exclusively, provided that the original publication in Jurnalistrendi is acknowledged.
  6. Authors are encouraged to share their work online before and during submission to promote scholarly exchange and citation, provided that such sharing complies with the journal's publication policies.
