Publication Ethics
JURNALISTRENDI: Journal of Linguistics, Literature, and Education is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and maintaining the integrity of the peer-review process. All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers—are expected to adhere to ethical principles consistent with internationally recognized standards.
Submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection tools during the review or production process to ensure originality and academic integrity.
These publication ethics are formulated based on decisions made by the Editorial Team and are aligned with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Guidelines.
Ethical Guidelines for Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to JURNALISTRENDI are required to comply with the following ethical standards:
- Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original works and do not violate the intellectual property rights of others.
- All authors listed in the manuscript share equal responsibility for the content of the submitted and published article.
- The corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to its submission.
- Individuals who have made significant scholarly or scientific contributions must be listed as co-authors.
- Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal.
- Authors must not submit works that have been previously published, either in whole or in substantial part.
- All sources must be properly cited. Privately obtained information may only be used with explicit permission from the source.
- Authors must avoid defamatory or libelous statements that may harm the reputation of individuals or institutions.
- All potential conflicts of interest, whether financial or non-financial, must be fully disclosed.
Plagiarism
JURNALISTRENDI considers plagiarism a serious violation of publication ethics. Any use of another author’s work without proper acknowledgment is unacceptable. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected or retracted in accordance with the journal’s plagiarism policy.
Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest may arise when personal, financial, or professional relationships influence an author’s research. Authors are required to disclose any such conflicts at the time of submission. The editorial team will take these disclosures into account when making publication decisions.
Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers
Peer reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining academic quality and integrity. Reviewers are expected to adhere to the following principles:
- Provide objective, fair, and unbiased evaluations based solely on scholarly merit.
- Maintain the confidentiality of the peer-review process.
- Offer constructive, clear, and evidence-based feedback to authors.
- Complete reviews in a timely manner and promptly inform the editor of any delays.
- Report any suspected plagiarism or substantial similarity to previously published works.
Ethical Guidelines for Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent, and efficient editorial process. Their ethical responsibilities include the following:
- Evaluating manuscripts based on academic merit without discrimination on the basis of race, gender, nationality, religion, or institutional affiliation.
- Maintaining confidentiality throughout the editorial and peer-review process.
- Rejecting manuscripts that fall outside the scope of the journal.
- Ensuring timely and efficient processing of submitted manuscripts.
- Facilitating the publication of corrections or retractions when significant errors are identified.
- Refraining from using unpublished data or materials without the explicit consent of the author.
