Abstract

This study was titled the value of the character of the novel character he was my brother by Tere Liye (study of literature) and his relevance as a teaching material in class XII Vocational School. This article aims to (1) know and understand the depiction of the value of character education in the novel he is my sister by Tere Liye, (2) to explain the relevance of the value of the value of the novel's character's character education is my sister by Tere Liye underlie if it is used as a teaching material in vocational This study uses a qualitative descriptive method because in this research data in the form of a series of ways or implementation activities based on the assumptions of basic assumptions, philosophical views and ideological questions and issues faced. This researcher this case study directs the description in detail and in depth about the portrait of conditions in a context, about what actually happens according to what it is on the study field. One effort to develop a character education that can be developed is through novel appreciation learning. Literature learning is a novel as one type of literary work that has a function can cause a sense of concern for the work produced by the author. The teaching of novels in school must be adjusted to the needs and conditions of students, in reviewing novels he is my brother by Tere Liye's learning the value of character education in the novel and his relevance as a teaching material in Vocational School is an interesting and important study. Character education is a process of forming human nature, character education aims to improve the quality of implementation and educational outcomes that lead to the achievement of the formation of character and ethics of students in full and integrated.
