Abstract
This study aimed to improve the negotiation text writing skills of Grade X students at SMKN 3 Buntok through the implementation of a process approach supported by video media. The study employed the Kemmis and McTaggart classroom Action Research (CAR) model, conducted in two cycles involving 10 students from the Mining Geology class. Data were collected through tests and observations and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that the implementation of the process approach supported by video media improved students' negotiation text writing skills. The average writing score increased from 63 in the pre action stage to 75 in cycle I and 84.5 in cycle II, while the learning mastery rate improved from 20% to 60% and reached 100% in cycle II. Student activity increased from 73% to 82%, whereas teacher activity improved from 80% to 88.3%. These findings indicate that the process approach supported by video media is effective in improving the negotiation text writing skills of Grade X students at SMKN 3 Buntok
